GoldStar Goes to Baja!

November 14-18 marked the the 50th SCORE International Baja 1000 off-road race. This race travels across the deserts of Mexico from Ensenada to La Paz testing the skill and endurance of drive teams and their trucks.

These drivers cover long stretches of rough terrain and cell phone service can get spotty. There are no cameras monitoring the full course. Armed only with a two-way radio, If a driver gets in trouble or needs help… some may have trouble explaining to their team which area of the long desert course they’re in. “I’m next to the big rock surrounded by sand” isn’t going to cut it! But, CC Motorsports isn’t worried. They brough GoldStar’s award-winning GPS system along for the ride to keep an eye on their truck and pacing like never before.

CC Motorsports’s Bob Shielly said, “Now we’re able to find our truck with the click of a mouse – not to mention the ability to safely track our people across the rugged terrain of Baja California.” Even friends and family were able to see the team’s progress throughout the race without compromising driver safety.

The team is excited that fans could enjoy the race and follow along from anywhere. CC Motorsports invited everyone to join as they raced down the as they shared updates from their GoldStar GPS device throughout the course on their Facebook Page.
