The Rosedale Group Chooses FleetLocate to Replace Legacy Telematics System

U.S., Canada transportation service provider deploys 1,450 telematics devices across entire fleet

IRVINE, Calif., January 29, 2019—Spireon, the vehicle intelligence company, recently completed a trailer telematics upgrade for The Rosedale Group, a truckload and LTL transportation services company specializing in the warehousing and distribution of flooring materials. The Rosedale Group chose to deploy Spireon’s FleetLocate® across its entire fleet of more than 1,450 trailers, replacing a legacy tracking solution.

“It was important for us to find a telematics solution that was not only technically robust, but also backed by a strong business partner capable of supporting our needs over the long-term,” said Ron Uloth vice president and general manager at The Rosedale Group. “Between its broad, highly scalable FleetLocate product line, hands-on service, and ability to meet our aggressive deployment schedule, Spireon has proven itself as a great fit and the right choice.”

With operations spread across Canada and the United States, a recent business acquisition finalized, and its previous telematics provider contract coming to an end, The Rosedale Group took the opportunity to find a technology partner to fit its aggressive growth model. After a competitive pilot phase, the carrier chose FleetLocate to provide 24/7 tracking of its full fleet of approximately 1,450 trailers. Outstanding customer service, rapid installation of the FL Solar, a self-sustaining, solar-powered tracking device, and integration with The Rosedale Group’s transportation management system (TMS) put Spireon over the top.

“Sealing the deal with Rosedale meant orchestrating the installation of our devices on more than 1,450 trailers in less than four months,” said Roni Taylor, senior vice president, FAI strategy and business development at Spireon. “The strong partnership we developed with The Rosedale Group allowed us to successfully execute one of our most ambitious contracts to date, and we are excited to help them realize dramatic improvements in utilization and financial performance as we have with so many other customers.”

The FleetLocate solution for trailer and asset management includes a cloud-based management portal, mobile applications, and a wide range of tracking devices, such as the modular FL-Flex tracking device, several solar-powered devices, and Spireon’s breakthrough cargo sensor with IntelliScan™ sensing technology. FleetLocate has been successfully deployed by several of the nation’s largest transportation companies, as well as by hundreds of small-to-mid-sized businesses utilizing dry vans, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, chassis, and more.
