Capitoltreetracker.com provides real-time GPS location tracking of the Capitol Tree using FleetLocate by Spireon’s advanced trailer management technology. The site will allow you to follow along as the tree makes its way from the Carson National Forest in New Mexico to the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Below you can see the tree being cut in Carson National Forest and loaded onto the truck for its cross-country trip.
The tree is selected from a different national forest each year and stops in cities along the way to the capitol. The tree started its journey on Nov. 11, and will arrive in D.C. on November 25.
